Nayara Energy Uplifting education in neighboring villages
Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the nation – Nelson Mandela
Educating a child is the foundation for a
better tomorrow; it is a sapling to a fruitful result. As a caring neighbor,
Nayara Energy, the new era downstream energy company has been constantly
working towards the goal of uplifting the education and livelihood index of the
communities around their Vadodara Refinery Plant. Taking education as their
social responsibility towards the neighbors, Nayara energy the largest oil refinery in India is working consistently with deep commitments and a
strategic approach.
Nayara Energy aims to ensure improved
access to education by stimulating the environment of an inspirational approach
amongst the elementary as well as school dropouts. With the idea of open
schooling and SMART Classes, they have succeeded in decreasing the number of
dropouts over the years. With the expansion plan of the Petrochemical business,
the company is working on training to promote the micro-enterprises and
entrepreneurship development of youth and women. For a better future, the
company is empowering the villages by providing technical and soft skills to
youth and women, helping them to secure better opportunities.
The company through its initiatives and
simulative approach has led to the decline of school dropouts across the 15
villages in Devbhumi. This has directly benefitted 4000 students across the
neighboring villages. The aim is to improve the grading of all 18 schools and
bring them into the “A” grade category. GramShiksha with the help of NIOS
classes, smart classes, remedial classes, and libraries has helped the students
gear up the performance. 11 out of 18 schools have recorded an improvement in
the school grading in 2017-2018 as 88% of students have achieved grade-level
competency.
In collaboration with the Government of
Gujarat at ITI Khambaliya, the Integrated Lab for Soft-skill development
(iLabss) has been set-up, which has trained over 1200 students across 15
villages in the last four years, making them skilled for meaningful livelihood.
Educating a certain community is equal to
building a foundation for a better tomorrow, and providing them with vocational
skills will empower them to seek better livelihoods.
